Yoga DVD for Home Practice
With so many yoga styles to choose from, you can be sure that there will be a yoga DVD to support the style of your choice and so it is important when purchasing a DVD that you consider it as an investment. This is because there may be times when you are unable to attend a yoga class for example and you can still obtain expert tuition by following the instructor on the DVD.
Equally, when starting out with a new exercise regime, sometimes we may be filled with self doubts about how we look, or perhaps are concerned about our current fitness level, so joining a class may be a daunting prospect. Equally if we have no one we know that would like to join a class, again, this may make us feel uncomfortable about attending alone. This is another reason why investing in a good yoga DVD is a positive expense.
Exercise DVDs' in general play a huge part in the exercise scene and with the addition of so many celebrity DVDs', there should be plenty of scope to try different styles and add extra variety to your exercise sessions. Using a yoga DVD at home also means that we do not have to be concerned if we struggle with getting into extreme positions or feel uncomfortable at how we look. The pause button also helps us to be able to view postures so that we can check our alignment is correct.
Buying a yoga DVD which offers several different work-outs is a good investment as this offers alternative practice sessions using different muscle groups. Other DVDs' will focus on individual areas which is ideal if there are specific areas which you need to tone or increase flexibility.
Ideally practice should take place at least three times a week although daily is preferred. Although any practice is better than none at all, sessions should last approximately 30-45 minutes. The session should incorporate gentle stretches for warm up, breathing exercises, postures and also a relaxation period to close the yoga session.
Although it is beneficial to attend a yoga class in addition to practising at home, a DVD does give you the option to at least try out various styles and improve confidence and fitness level prior first of all.
