Yoga Relaxation

Bring a little Peace and Harmony into your Life!

Yoga relaxation can help to combat the pressures of everyday living if regular practice sessions are undertaken. It is also very easy to add yoga relaxation at the end of your usual yoga session or alternatively, it can be practiced as an individual yogic practice which provides many different health benefits. The beauty of yoga relaxation is that it can be practiced anywhere, as an individual pursuit or with family or friends as part of a group opportunity to combat daily stresses.

There are a variety of yoga relaxation techniques which can help you to eradicate any tension within the body and to erase any problems or worries which may be niggling away inside the brain. The best way of incorporating regular yoga relaxation is to consider the following:

-Don't practise when you are feeling tired as most of the benefits will be greatly enhanced if you are feeling wide awake.

- Set aside a regular practice time, many people prefer to do their relaxation techniques at the start of the day so that they can face their day feeling calm and refreshed-but consider what is best for you as yoga can be adapted to suit your busy lifestyle.

-Practice different yoga relaxation techniques so that you can find the ones which suit you the best. There are no special techniques which will be better to practice; the decision is very much on an individual level.

-Choose whether you are best suited to have some alone time or whether group practice is the best option for you personally. Many people find that they are glad initially to have some quiet time especially if they have a very busy and manic day at work, those who work from home or simply like having group activities would benefit from regular classes.

- Take time to think about the muscle groups you are going to affect when using Progressive Muscle Relaxation. Identifying each muscle can help you to visualise the tension leaving the body.

At the start it can be difficult to embrace the necessary techniques but it is worth the effort as practice makes perfect. Increased practice possibly coupled with guided visualisation sessions will soon have all of the benefits of yoga relaxation being experienced.
