Organise a yoga weekend with friends and family and feel the beneficial recuperative powers of this specialised exercise program coupled with the benefits of having those who are loved around you. Organising such an event need not be that difficult and the benefits will far outweigh any negatives that may be experienced during the organisational process. Firstly decide who you would like to attend your yoga weekend and then add their names to a list, once they have accepted or declined, remember to update your list. Because your yoga weekend should be fun as well as being of serious intention, make sure that you plan mini yogic sessions and cater for any other relaxation requirements too.

Think about the following details when planning your schedule:

Consider the needs of your guests carefully, some of your family and friends may not be as flexible as others so make sure when planning your yoga postures that they flow and yet are achievable by all. The number of family and friends attending should be enough to build rapport amongst everyone and to keep conversation and events continuing effortlessly and yet not too many where it becomes difficult to organise. Your yoga weekend should be enjoyed by all, so do not ruin it for yourself by becoming stressed. To round off each session of yoga, it would be a good idea to play a pre-recorded relaxation CD so that all your guests can enjoy the sensation of eradicating any left-over tension.

Depending on how skilled you are at yoga yourself, it may be worth asking a qualified yoga teacher to take some of the sessions for you so that all of your family and friends can benefit from correct postural alignment. This has the added benefit of allowing you to enjoy the sessions as well. Of course this is dependent on finances but it is worth considering if you possibly can.

It is important that your yoga weekend is as stress-free and as relaxed as possible, so having other therapists on hand for mini treatments will ensure that your yoga weekend will be a holistic success.
